Sherlock Holmes takes a vacation and visits his old friend Sir Henry Baskerville. His vacation ends when he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a double-murder mystery. Now he's got to find Professor Moriarty and the horse Silver Blaze before the great cup final horse race.

A convicted thief hides the location of the stolen Bank of England printing plates inside three music boxes (each one plays a subtly different version of "The Swagman"). The boxes are sold at a local auction house. However, a criminal gang, the brains behind which belong to a darkly beautiful, ruthless woman, who is also a "consummate actress" as Sherlock Holmes learns, when she talks down to both Holmes and Watson, whom she pretends not to recognize, and leaves with a music box right under their noses.

SHERLOCK HOLMES: The first American television series of Sherlock Holmes adventures aired in syndication in the fall of 1954. The 39 half-hour mostly original stories were starring Ronald Howard (son of Leslie Howard) as Holmes and Howard Marion Crawford as Watson.
